Dear Westlake Parents and Guardians:

March begins this week which is hard to believe!  Your children have been hard at work learning and making huge strides towards gaining at least one year’s growth or more in their learning.  Students recently took MAPs tests which we use to help us to gauge student learning and growth.  These tests are given in Math and Language Arts and I would encourage you to talk with your child about the progress they made.  It is important when having these conversations to help support children in setting goals and understanding the importance of growth over time. Please feel free to reach out the school and/or your child’s Language Arts or Math teacher for more information about MAPs results.

CMAS Testing is coming!

CMAS testing is coming up in March and April. This assessment is an important way for us to get information about what how our students are learning and meeting state standards. 7th grade testing is March 19th through the 21st. 8th grade is April 4th, 5th and 8th for math and language arts, and April 15th and 16th for science. 6th grade testing is on April 9th, 11th and 12th. The full schedule with times is posted on our website. We ask that you please keep these dates in mind when scheduling any appointments that might keep your student out of school. We thank you for your cooperation and partnership in this effort!
