Westlake Parents and Guardians:
Across our school and district (and in fact across the country), there has been a movement to better support and teach to areas of Social Emotional Learning (SEL). Brain research has indicated the value of SEL in academic learning and over health and the results are compelling. As parents, there are ways we can help support our children with SEL too! Check out this article from Parent Toolkit about a parent’s guide to SEL.
Parent Teacher Conferences Coming Soon
Parent teacher conferences are 4-8 pm on February 13th and 1:30-4 pm on February 14th. Conferences will be in an arena format in the Westlake gym, and you will have the opportunity to sign up for a half hour time slot when you will be able to speak with all of your child’s teachers for about 3-4 minutes each. Please look for an email on Thursday with a link to sign up for a 1/2 our time slot on the 13th or 14th. Please contact us if you have any questions.
Save the Date! Color Fun Run Coming Soon!
Did your child have fun at the 2018 Inaugural Westlake PTO Middle School Color Fun Run? This was such a successful event that we decided to do it again! $16,000 raised!
SAVE THE DATE – May 10th, 2019. Early Bird Registration begins in March! This is a STUDENT ONLY event. Early Bird Registration is the best deal at $20.00 per student which includes guaranteed t-shirt. Money raised will go towards technology at WLMS.
