Dear Westlake Parents and Guardians:
Did you know that Westlake students recently partnered with artist Michael Gadlin on designing and creating a new mural? Thanks to Think 360 we received a grant and got connected with Michael to support students throughout this amazing project. This project also was recently featured in the Broomfield Enterprise. I enjoyed how, each day, a new element of the mural took shape and watching students across our building enjoying seeing this artwork come to life. I even got an invite from our students to do a little painting myself!

Buy one get one Book Fair and Summer Reading Tips
We have a couple more days for the BOGO Book Fair at Westlake! Students can pay for items directly at school or you can even load an account for students to purchase books. This book fair is a great way for students to get ready to read over the summer. Its important for students to continue to practice reading and summer is a great time to dive into some books!

Student ID’s Reminder
For the safety of all our students and staff at Westlake I wanted to take a moment to remind our school community that at Westlake we wear ID’s on lanyards everyday. This practice allows us to quickly see if there is an individual who is not a student, staff member, or visitor that is supposed to be on our campus. Students received a school issued lanyard at the beginning of the school year which they
can wear or they may choose to wear a school appropriate lanyard of their choice. We ask that students wear the lanyard around their necks and not stick the ID’s in their pockets. ID’s in pockets are not visible and we’re unable to easily see if a student or adult is meant to be on our campus. Please see the snapshot below of the ID policy taken from our Student Handbook. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to the school.
