Week of 02.12.18

Westlake Parents and Guardians:

This week is Parent/Teacher Conferences and we are very much looking forward to seeing you all.  You should have received prior communication about Parent/Teacher Conferences and if you have any additional questions please feel free to reach out to the school so we can best answer your questions.

 

Technology Task Force

We are looking for a few parents to join a cohort of teachers, administrators, and students in order to look at technology in our classrooms. Many schools and districts across the nation are implementing and/or looking at different programs in which each individual student has their own device to utilize as a tool in each class. We would like to explore the options for Westlake.
After the cohort is formed, we will be meeting once a month after school @ 4pm to research technology in the classroom, and come up with a plan for Westlake’s future.
ALL perspectives are encouraged and welcome. If you believe strongly one way or the other, or just simply have an interest in moving Westlake down a new path, when it comes to technology in the classroom, please consider joining our group.  Please contact either Angie Lavasseur or Jon Novotny to express your interest or for any questions you may have.

WLMS Color Fun Run!!

Please join us for the 1st Annual Color Fun Run in Honor of Devin Mack!

Date:  Friday, May 11, 2018

Time:  2:30-3:30pm

Registration:  Includes run entry and t-shirt

  • $20 (Early Bird) – February 5th to March 5th
  • $25 – March 6th – April 4th
  • $30 – April 5th – May 9th – no t-shirt guarantee

T-shirt Logo Contest!

Your custom logo can be on the front of the Color Fun Run t-shirt.   Please see the attached form for details on logo specifications.  Forms are also available in the front office.

Deadline for logos:  Wednesday, February 21st

The winner will be announced Wednesday, March 7th and will receive free entry into the Fun Run and a $20 Amazon gift card.

Top ten contenders will be up for vote.  Voting will be done by Westlake students via online survey.
